The principle of charging SMS messages to the network of Megafon and Iota operators is being changed (Russia)

23.10.2025

Since 2011, the principle of charging SMS messages to the network of telecom operators Megafon and Iota (Russia) has been changed. All SMS messages to the network of these operators will be charged at a fixed cost depending on the tariff plan (unit pricing). The new cost of the SMS message is indicated on the website on the Rates page..

Also, starting from the specified date, operators will introduce batch billing, which can be activated at the client's request, for patterned transactional, authorization, informational and non-patterned SMS advertising messages. The "Templated advertising SMS message" type is canceled. All SMS messages registered earlier with this type will be converted into non-standard promotional SMS. The new tariffs for the package system are listed on the Tariffs for the Megafon operator (Russia) page.

Billing according to the batch system is carried out for SMS messages sent in one calendar month to one unique subscriber on behalf of each sender, is not summed up for all names of the sender of the client and is calculated individually for each recipient of messages..

Clients who agree to work on batch billing must send a request to names@smscentre.com (with the e-mail specified in their personal account). Without this confirmation, all SMS messages to the network of Megafon and Iota operators will be charged at a fixed rate with payment for each SMS (piece billing) without package billing. The opportunity to change the billing method is provided once a month from the 1nd to the 27rd day, for which you must send a request to names@smscentre.com.

Starting from 2011, the cost of a premium SMS message used by the Megafon telecom operator in case of violation of legal requirements and/or terms of the contract is being changed. The new cost of a premium SMS message is 8.50 RUB.
